The grass is green, the days are longer and the weather is warmer and that can only mean one thing: It’s Little League Time!

The town has opened access to all fields and approved our COVID Safety Protocols, and I wanted to reach out to you all and let you know that we have been working hard behind the scenes to get this season going and it’s time to PLAY BALL! With the help of both the Parks & Rec department and EHLL volunteers, we have been busy repairing damage from fallen trees, the weathered/leaking dugouts, and the most recent break-in at Gorman concession stand.  We are really excited to know that these improvements are going to benefit our players for years to come!Now let’s get down to business! 

*** MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL EHLL ACTIVITIES WHEN NOT ON THE FIELD PLAYING *** This includes spectators, please!

Just like in the Fall, we will be holding league-wide clinics - These clinics are for BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL PLAYERS! Clinics for all players AGES 8-12 will be held on Monday April 12th and Wednesday April 14th at Gorman Park Stadium from 5:30-7:30pm (weather permitting).  We will have several great coaches on hand to resume teaching fundamental skills to your player(s) outside of our normal Little League season. Players must bring a glove & water bottle. These clinics are completely optional but a great way to get back into the game after a long winter and get ready for evaluations!



**Evaluations** For players registered for majors/minors Softball and Baseball (this excludes Tee Ball players, Coach Pitch & Challengers) will be held on April 16-18 at Gorman Park - not McAuliffe as previously disclosed. Players must be fully registered (including uploaded forms) to evaluate. Please find your players applicable times below for when to attend evaluations:
Softball: Friday April 16th - 5:30-7:30pm  all ages for softball
Baseball:  Sat & Sun April 17th and 18th 
                9am-11am  ages 8-9 
                 11am-1pm   ages 10-12 

Minors and Majors drafts will be done following evaluations. Majors and Minors Baseball and Softball will begin practices the week of 4/20. Coaches will be in contact about team placement and practice times/location that week. The first games for these divisions will tentatively be the weekend of 4/24. 


Opening Day for the rest of the league will be 5/1 with opening ceremonies beginning at 9:00am (players must arrive no later than 8:30am) and games to follow throughout the day. Coaches will be in contact with players the week of 4/26. (More information to follow about opening ceremonies).

I know that we are all excited to get back out there and play, but please also remember that we are still in the midst of a pandemic. As such, our COVID safety rules have not changed from last year. (A separate email with safety protocols will be sent shortly). Our #1 priority has always been your player’s safety and will continue to be. Last year we successfully held 2 seasons of little league with no COVID-related issues thanks to everyone following the rules and keeping each other safe. This year will be no different and we look forward to working together with you all to make this happen. Registration will remain open until April 10th - so sign up today if you have not already!
